PESHAWAR, Mar 12 (APP): The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has decided to conduct court proceedings only four days a week as part of energy conservation measures, according to an official notification issued on Thursday.
Under the new arrangement, the court will function from Monday to Thursday, while Friday and Saturday will remain closed for regular judicial proceedings.
The administrative order, issued with the approval of the Chief Justice of the PHC, also introduces a 50 percent reduction in fuel consumption for judges’ official vehicles to ensure efficient use of resources and energy.
According to the notification, the Institution Branch of the court will remain open on Friday and Saturday with limited staff to handle essential administrative matters.
Officials said the measures have been taken in line with the directives of the National Judicial Committee and the broader energy conservation policy.
Sources further stated that the new working schedule will take effect immediately across all benches of the PHC and is being viewed as an important step towards improving administrative efficiency and reducing energy consumption.
