The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday reviewed the progress of development work in several new sectors of the Federal Capital and directed officials to expedite the process of handing over possession of developed plots to owners.

ISLAMABAD, Mar 12 (APP): The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday reviewed the progress of development work in several new sectors of the Federal Capital and directed officials to expedite the process of handing over possession of developed plots to owners.
The meeting was chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa at the CDA headquarters. It was attended by senior officials including Member Administration and Estate Talat Mehmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Planning and Design Dr Khalid Hafiz, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza and Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch.
During the meeting, the CDA chairman instructed officials to ensure that possession of plots in completed sectors is handed over to allottees at the earliest.
Officials briefed the meeting on the development status of Sector C-14, stating that work on basic infrastructure has been completed while more than 95 per cent of electricity supply arrangements are in place. Installation of light poles on main roads and signboards on streets has also been completed, while landscaping and horticulture work along main roads is progressing rapidly.
The chairman directed officials to install digital information boards at the entrance points of the sector and personally visit the site to review development activities so that the formal process of handing over possession could begin.
Regarding Sector C-15, officials informed the meeting that sub-base work was under way on around 37 streets.
They added that the process of obtaining a no-objection certificate (NOC) for a railway bridge in the sector was in progress and that services of a consultant for its design would soon be acquired.
The meeting also reviewed development work in Sector E-12.
Officials said sub-base work on roads in sub-sectors 1 and 2 was nearing completion, while work on roads surrounding the commercial centre was advancing at a fast pace. Progress on electricity supply in the sector was also described as satisfactory.
Development activities in Sector I-12 were also discussed, with officials informing the meeting that most of the work in the sector was nearing completion. Work on a service road there is expected to begin soon.
The CDA chairman also directed officials to ensure the timely installation of signboards on roads and streets in all sectors and ordered the preparation of e-maps to identify plot locations in newly developed areas.
He further instructed authorities to resolve electricity issues in Park Enclave, ensure road carpeting and remove encroachments.
Randhawa said providing modern residential facilities to citizens in Islamabad remained a top priority for the CDA, adding that obstacles hindering development work would be removed to ensure timely possession of plots for residents.
