60% KP government vehicles grounded for two months

PESHAWAR, Mar 12 (APP): In view of the regional situation, the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to ground 60 percent of government vehicles for two months.
According to an official notification issued by the provincial administration on Thursday, the decision has been taken to reduce fuel consumption due to possible pressure on petroleum supply and foreign exchange reserves amid the evolving regional circumstances.
The notification states that Principal Accounting Officers will ensure strict implementation of the order. However, the restriction will not apply to police operational duties, law-enforcement agencies, rescue services, emergency services and field enforcement units.
The directive was issued on the instructions of the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and copies of the notification have been sent to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and all relevant departments.
The measure will remain in effect for a period of two months to manage fuel resources and economic pressure in the province.
