PFA seizes 2,400kg dead poultry

GUJRAT, Mar 12 (APP): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Gujrat, working with the Livestock Department, seized 2,400 kilograms of dead poultry in a raid against illegal transport.
The operation was conducted near the Galiyan Wala Chowk police check post, where the food safety team stopped a vehicle and found the dead chickens.
A veterinary officer inspected the poultry and confirmed that they were blue in color and unfit for human consumption.
The PFA team seized all the poultry and destroyed it at the designated Clean Punjab dumping point.
Authorities said a case had been registered against those involved and assured that operations would continue to stop the supply of substandard and unsafe meat.
