GUJRAT, Mar 12 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) continued food safety operations across the district under the supervision of Deputy Director Rizwan Saeed.
According to official sources, PFA teams inspected a total of 119 food outlets during the drive. Improvement notices were issued to 49 outlets for violations of food safety regulations.
The authority also imposed fines amounting to Rs 219,000 on nine food points over various violations.
During the inspections, four food samples were collected for laboratory analysis, while 52.1 kilograms of expired, prohibited and substandard food items were discarded.
Officials of the Punjab Food Authority said that inspection and monitoring activities would continue across the district to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to the public.
