Central procession of Youm-e-Ali (RA) concludes at Karbala Gamay Shah peacefully

The central procession taken out in connection with Youm-e-Shahadat of Ameer-ul-Momineen Hazrat Ali (RA) concluded at Karbala Gamay Shah after passing through its designated routes in the provincial capital on Wednesday.

LAHORE, Mar 11 (APP): The central procession taken out in connection with Youm-e-Shahadat of Ameer-ul-Momineen Hazrat Ali (RA) concluded at Karbala Gamay Shah after passing through its designated routes in the provincial capital on Wednesday.
The main procession started from Imambargah Mubarak Haveli where a large number of mourners participated to pay tribute to Hazrat Ali (RA).
During the procession, mourners recited Noha and performed Matam, expressing their grief and devotion to Hazrat Ali (RA).
The procession passed through Chowk Nawab Sahib, Wazir Khan Mosque Chowk, Kashmiri Bazaar, Sunehri Mosque, Rang Mahal Chowk and Pani Wala Talab before reaching Tehsil Bazaar Lal Masjid, where participants offered Zuhrain prayers under the leadership of Maulana Asghar Mehdi.
After the prayers, the procession resumed its route through Tehsil Bazaar, Kucha Faqirkhana and Bhati Gate and finally concluded at Imambargah Karbala Gamay Shah.
Strict security arrangements were made by the administration along the entire route of the procession to ensure peace and safety of the participants.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr Abdul Kareem appreciated the performance of all officers and personnel deployed on security duty across the province, including Lahore Police, for ensuring effective security arrangements on the occasion.
He said the Traffic Police, Special Branch and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), along with other units, performed their duties with excellent coordination.
Abdul Kareem further said that the district administrations, Punjab Safe Cities Authority, security agencies and the media extended full cooperation to Punjab Police. He also thanked religious scholars of all schools of thought and organisers of religious gatherings and processions for promoting inter-sect harmony and cooperating with the authorities.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Dr Athar Waheed said that SSP Traffic City Zone Maqsood Ahmed Lone supervised the traffic arrangements. He added that two SPs, five DSPs, 52 inspectors and 674 wardens, along with lady wardens and traffic assistants, performed duty on the occasion.
