MUZAFFARGARH, Mar 11 (APP): A central mourning procession was taken out in Daira Din Panah, an area of Kot Addu, on the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA), drawing a large number of mourners who participated with deep reverence and devotion.
According to details, the central procession started from Astana Ghazi Abbas Alamdar and proceeded along its traditional routes toward its destination. Mourners were seen reciting elegies and performing matam (chest beating) as part of the mourning rituals.
Senior administrative and police officials visited the procession to review security and administrative arrangements. Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, District Police Officer Mansoor Qamar, and DSP Abdul Ghaffar Khan inspected the procession route and monitored the overall situation to ensure peaceful observance of the event.
Strict security measures were put in place along the procession route. Rescue 1122 and Civil Defence Pakistan teams remained on high alert to deal with any emergency situation.
Police officials including one DSP, three inspectors, eight sub-inspectors, three head constables and around fifty constables were deployed to maintain law and order during the procession.
