IHC notifies four-day working

The Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) registrar office on Wednesday issued a notification regarding implementation of the order of working of courts four-day in a week.

ISLAMABAD, Mar 11 (APP): The Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) registrar office on Wednesday issued a notification regarding implementation of the order of working of courts four-day in a week.
The courts will open from Monday to Thursday. The government’s economic measures to save fuel will be implemented in IHC with immediate effect.
In view of the regional situation, the notification has been issued in light of the decision of the National Judicial Policy Making Committee meeting. Courts in Islamabad will work with 50 percent capacity of the staff, according to the notification.
The courts will remain closed from Friday to Sunday, however, the staff will be available on WhatsApp during holidays. The court staff will not leave the station without the written permission of the competent authority while the registrar and MIT staff will work from home on a weekly rotation basis.
The district courts of Islamabad will work with full capacity from Monday to Thursday, according to the notification. The duty judges in the district judiciary will be available on Friday and Saturday to deal with criminal and civil cases with less staff.
The fuel of government vehicles will be reduced for the next two months, all government vehicles of the Islamabad High Court will be provided with 50 percent fuel as per the federal government policy.
However, the fuel of government vehicles of the Islamabad District Judiciary will be reduced by 25 percent and the judges of the Islamabad High Court and the district judiciary will not be provided with security vehicles within the limits of Islamabad. Where and when possible, lawyers will be allowed to appear through video link.
