Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar on Tuesday reviewed security arrangements for the Youm-e-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali (RA) being observed on 21st Ramadan-ul-Mubarak and visited routes of mourning processions and venues of religious gatherings to ensure comprehensive security measures.

FAISALABAD, Mar 10 (APP): Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar on Tuesday reviewed security arrangements for the Youm-e-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali (RA) being observed on 21st Ramadan-ul-Mubarak and visited routes of mourning processions and venues of religious gatherings to ensure comprehensive security measures.
During visit, he inspected major procession routes and majalis locations in the city and reviewed administrative as well as security arrangements put in place by the district administration and police. He also inspected security arrangements outside an imambargah on Dijkot Road where he observed checking procedures and other precautionary measures.
He directed officers of the district administration and police to remain fully alert and perform their duties with vigilance throughout the religious observance.
He instructed the relevant departments to ensure cleanliness along the procession routes and carry out water sprinkling to control dust. He also directed to make alternative traffic arrangements to facilitate commuters during the processions.
He further ordered strict monitoring of security arrangements, ensuring the presence of security personnel along the routes and comprehensive checking of participants entering the mourning processions.
He also directed that security personnel should be deployed on rooftops along the procession routes to maintain surveillance and prevent any untoward incident. Security arrangements should remain fully active and vigilant until the conclusion of all processions, he added.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sohail Akhtar Sukhera and others were also present on the occasion.
