Kyrgyzstan, China discuss developing cooperation in agriculture

BISHKEK, March 10 (Kabar/APP) : Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Erlis Akunbekov met with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Kyrgyzstan, Liu Jiangping.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers press service, during the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation and noted the importance of the agreements reached following the meetings between Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov and Chinese President Xi Jinping, as well as high-level bilateral visits.
It was noted that trade through the Torugart and Irkeshtam checkpoints, located on the state border between Kyrgyzstan and China, is proceeding at a high level.
They also discussed the implementation of several investment projects previously signed between the Kyrgyz and Chinese governments, as well as agricultural projects between the two countries’ companies.
Akunbekov emphasized that developing cooperation between the two neighboring nations is a priority for Kyrgyzstan’s foreign policy. In this regard, he noted that Kyrgyz-Chinese relations have been actively developing in recent years and expressed confidence in the further strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
