Punjab Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Sohail Shaukat Butt on Monday emphasized transparency, efficiency and timely completion of welfare programmes to ensure prompt services for deserving citizens across the province.
Minister stresses transparency, efficiency in social welfare programmes

LAHORE, Mar 09 (APP): Punjab Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Sohail Shaukat Butt on Monday emphasized transparency, efficiency and timely completion of welfare programmes to ensure prompt services
for deserving citizens across the province.
He expressed these views during an introductory meeting with newly appointed Director General Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Dr Shehanshah Faisal Azim, whom he congratulated on assuming the new responsibility and extended best wishes.
During the meeting, matters relating to the department’s ongoing welfare initiatives, institutional performance and effective delivery of services to the deserving segments of society came under discussion. Both sides agreed to further enhance transparency, speed and efficiency in major welfare initiatives, including the Himmat Card programme, provision of assistive devices for persons with disabilities, Dhee Rani programme and other social protection schemes.
Sohail Shaukat Butt said that under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Department was being transformed into a more active, transparent and people-friendly institution. He added that thousands of deserving individuals were benefiting from various social protection programmes launched by the provincial government.
The minister directed the department to ensure completion of all ongoing welfare projects within the stipulated timeframe, stressing that any delay in providing services to deserving citizens would not be tolerated.
On the occasion, Director General Dr Shehanshah Faisal Azim reaffirmed his commitment to further improving the department’s performance, ensuring timely provision of facilities to deserving individuals and strengthening transparency and efficiency in the system.
