Terrorist Attack on PS Aba Shaheed foiled by timely police response

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Mar 09 (APP):A terrorist attack on Aba Shaheed Police Station was successfully foiled after police personnel responded swiftly and forced the attackers to flee.

The prompt action by District Police Officer (DPO) Ziauddin Ahmed, and the bravery of on-duty officers prevented the assailants from achieving their objectives, said police spokesman on Monday.

He said that the terrorists attempted to target the police station, but the alert personnel stationed there immediately retaliated with effective defensive action. Faced with a strong response, the attackers were unable to carry out their plan and escaped from the scene.

Upon receiving information about the incident, DPO Ziauddin Ahmed and Deputy Superintendent of Police City, Malik Abid Iqbal rushed to the scene to assess the security situation. During the visit, the DPO met with the officers on duty, praised their courage and professionalism, and encouraged them for their timely and brave response.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Ziauddin Ahmed said such cowardly attacks by terrorists could not weaken the resolve of the police. He reiterated that the Dera police remain fully committed to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and protection of citizens at all costs.

He further commended the bravery and vigilance of the police personnel and emphasized that operations against elements threatening peace will continue with greater effectiveness.
