Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, said the government’s timely adjustment of petroleum prices helped avert a potential fuel crisis in Pakistan as global oil prices surged beyond $110 per barrel in international markets.

ISLAMABAD, Mar 09 (APP):Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, said the government’s timely adjustment of petroleum prices helped avert a potential fuel crisis in Pakistan as global oil prices surged beyond $110 per barrel in international markets.
In a statement issued from the Prime Minister’s Office Youth Affairs Wing, Mashhood said the international petroleum market is witnessing an extraordinary rise in prices, creating economic pressure across the region.
Highlighting regional developments, Rana Mashhood pointed to the situation in Bangladesh, where authorities are compelled to limit the sale of petroleum products according to different categories of vehicles due to supply pressures.
He said that under the “far-sighted leadership” of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan had avoided such restrictions, and the supply of petroleum products across the country continued normally.
Mashhood urged citizens to show patience and responsibility in the face of the difficult global economic environment, expressing confidence that with effective policies and national unity Pakistan would overcome the challenge.
