Friendship Iftar brings smiles to 200 orphan children

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) hosted the Türkiye–Pakistan Friendship Iftar in the federal capital, bringing together senior government officials, diplomats, parliamentarians, project partners, and representatives from public and private institutions.

Friendship Iftar brings smiles to 200 orphan children

The event also welcomed 200 orphan children under the care of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal and Al Khidmat Foundation, who enjoyed games, activities, and gift packages marking World Orphans Day.

The event was attended by Minister of State for Education Wajiha Qamar, Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs Muhammad Humair Karim, Ambassador of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to Pakistan Buket Kop, Chairperson of the Pakistan–Türkiye Parliamentary Friendship Group Shaista Pervaiz, as well as TIKA’s project partners in Pakistan, representatives of public institutions, private sector and civil society organizations, representatives of Turkish institutions operating in Pakistan, international organizations and university students.

During the program, various games and activities were organized for the orphan children, and gift packages were distributed as part of the celebration of World Orphans Day.

Speaking at the event, TIKA Islamabad Program Coordinator Saliha Tuna emphasized the vital importance of strong and reliable institutions that can ensure the safety and well-being of children.

Tuna also expressed her appreciation to Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal and Al Khidmat Foundation, TIKA’s project partners, for their partnership and friendship in supporting orphan children.
