ISLAMABAD, Mar 05 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has intensified its crackdown against heavy traffic violating designated lanes on IJP Road, taking action against 927 vehicles during the past month.
An ITP official told APP on Thursday that special enforcement teams conducted operations at various points on IJP Road to ensure the strict implementation of lane discipline.
He said 53 heavy vehicles involved in overspeeding on the fast lane were impounded and shifted to police stations during the crackdown.
All enforcement activities are being personally supervised by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (Retd) Hamza Humayun.
CTO Hamza Humayun said lane violation is a serious breach of traffic laws, and heavy vehicle drivers must strictly follow lane discipline.
He warned that strict action would continue against those violating traffic rules.
He added that special checkpoints of Islamabad Traffic Police have been deployed on IJP Road to monitor traffic flow and take action against lane violations.
