ISLAMABAD, Mar 05 (APP):A fire that broke out in the Margalla Hills near Margalla Avenue was brought under control at 4:15 a.m after an overnight response by rescue teams.
According to the district administration, 30 firefighters from the Environment Directorate took part in the operation to stop the spread of flames in the hills.
The incident was reported in the Margalla range along Margalla Avenue. Rescue teams reached the site and continued efforts throughout the night to contain the fire. Officials said firefighters moved through the hills to reach affected areas and worked for several hours to stop the spread.
A spokesperson for the district administration said the operation continued until 4:15 a.m., when teams managed to bring the fire under control. The response involved coordinated efforts by firefighters who remained active at the site during the night.
Authorities stated that the fire was contained before it could extend further across the hill range. After the major flames were controlled, teams started a cooling process to prevent any remaining heat from reigniting the fire.
The spokesperson added that staff members were still present at the location to monitor the area and ensure the cooling process continues. Officials said the teams would stay on site until there is no risk of the fire starting again.
The monitoring is continued in the affected area to prevent any further loss.
