KOHAT, Mar 4 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting to review decisive measures aimed at curbing illegal placer gold mining across the district.
The crucial session was attended by senior officers of the district administration, representatives of the Minerals Department, the Forest Department, and other concerned officials. During the comprehensive briefing, department heads outlined the growing challenges posed by unlawful mining; consequently, the Deputy Commissioner directed authorities to take strict and immediate legal action against those involved.
Moreover, officials highlighted the environmental and administrative complications arising from unauthorized excavation activities. Therefore, clear instructions were issued to enhance monitoring mechanisms and ensure transparent enforcement of mining regulations. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that illegal extraction not only damages natural resources but also undermines lawful economic practices, adding that coordinated and sustained operations would continue vigorously.
Meanwhile, a Ramadan Dastarkhwan was thoughtfully arranged at the Women and Children Park, Kohat, where the Deputy Commissioner made a special visit to inspect the arrangements. He carefully reviewed the Iftar setup and warmly appreciated the organizers for maintaining orderly management and providing quality meals promptly to fasting citizens. Furthermore, he commended the disciplined atmosphere and the inclusive arrangements made for attendees.
In addition, the Deputy Commissioner lauded the commendable efforts of Karwan-e-Amal, noting that such meaningful welfare initiatives during the holy month of Ramadan significantly promote social harmony and brotherhood. He reaffirmed that the district administration would steadfastly support charitable activities, thereby strengthening community bonds and ensuring that assistance reaches the deserving segments of society effectively and consistently.
