Punjab govt ensuring strict security measures across province: minister

FAISALABAD, Mar 04 (APP): Provincial Minister for Housing Bilal Yasin said that the Punjab government is ensuring strict security measures across the province.
As per the instructions of CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the security of foreigners working on foreign-funded mega development projects is given a priority.
He was chairing a meeting at the Commissioner’s Office here on Wednesday. The Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar and RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhera were flanked by him.
Director General Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Punjab Muhammad Tayyab, Deputy Commissioner Cap (Retd) Nadeem Nasir, CPO Bilal Umar, SSP Operation Furqan, MD WASA Saqib Raza, Project Director and other officers were also present.
The meeting was given a comprehensive briefing on security measures for foreigners working on foreign-funded projects.
The minister directed the Project Director Wastewater Treatment Project, Wasiran (Khanoana) to ensure security arrangements as per the required SOPs on the projects.
No compromise will be made on the security of the citizens, especially foreigners, the minister said.
He also called on the successful people in lucky draws of the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” program at the Commissioner’s Office and inquired about government facilities and financial assistance.
He said that providing housing facilities to the deserving segment is the top priority of the government.
Later, the minister also visited the under construction homes on Sargodha Road and stressed the need to maintain transparency.
