HARIPUR, Mar 04 (APP):District Police Officer Haripur Shafiullah Ganda Pur Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting with the Tarbela Hydro Power Project T-5 Management Director, Project Director Umair Minan, Director Faisal Hayat, and Director Security, Colonel (R) Adnan, to review and strengthen security arrangements at T-5.
The meeting focused on addressing observations from the previous joint security audit. Officials were instructed to immediately rectify all deficiencies to enable a comprehensive security audit in collaboration with the District Administration, Special Branch, SSU, and other agencies.
Discussions included security for the T-5 extension, protection of foreign workers, effective monitoring of internal and external access routes, CCTV coverage, and the emergency response mechanism.
DPO Haripur highlighted that Tarbela Dam is a vital national energy project and the T-5 extension is a major milestone for the country’s economy. He stressed that ensuring foolproof security for project staff and foreign workers is the top priority.
CCTV cameras should cover all movement routes of foreign workers, and employee verification must be conducted promptly in coordination with local police and relevant agencies.
WAPDA security personnel were directed to use bulletproof jackets and helmets, strengthen patrols in the Red Zone, and enhance security checks at sensitive locations.
