RWMC honours workers, expands anti-littering drive across Rawalpindi Division

RAWALPINDI, Mar 03 (APP): Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rana Sajid Safdar on Tuesday honoured RWMC Fateh Jang workers for their extraordinary efforts in clearing drains, saying their dedication was vital to resolving the city’s sanitation and drainage issues.
He said the workers who carried out extraordinary efforts to clear drains in Fateh Jang had demonstrated that determination and hard work could overcome any challenge. “We appreciate their untiring efforts and are awarding them cash prizes and appreciation certificates to encourage their services,” he added.
He was speaking at a ceremony where worker Muhammad Fayyaz and Assistant Manager Operations Nasir Sher Ali of RWMC Fateh Jang were presented with cash awards and certificates of appreciation. Senior Manager Communication RWMC Nasir Mehmood and Communication Officer Fateh Jang Farhat Abbas Shah were also present.
Meanwhile, under the Suthra Punjab programme, RWMC’s communication and operations teams organised anti-littering awareness campaigns in schools across all tehsils of the Rawalpindi Division.
Classroom lectures were delivered, waste-picking activities were conducted and walks were arranged to convey the message of proper waste disposal and cleanliness.
In Rawalpindi, door-to-door visits were also carried out to spread awareness about sanitation and responsible waste disposal practices.
An RWMC spokesman said the campaign was playing an important role in promoting cleanliness and environment-friendly behaviour in the city and would continue in schools and residential areas in the future.
