BEIJING, Mar 3 (APP): Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Tuesday that energy security is of great importance to the global economy, and all parties have the responsibility to ensure stable and smooth energy supplies.
She made these remarks in response to media reports claiming that China is pressuring Iranian officials to avoid actions that could disrupt Qatar’s natural gas exports and other shipments passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
China urges all sides to immediately cease military operations, prevent further escalation of tensions, safeguard the safety of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and avoid causing greater impacts on the global economy, the spokesperson said.
