FAISALABAD, Mar 02 (APP):Police claimed on Monday to have busted three dacoit gangs by arresting 12 active members and recovering looted property worth Rs3.3 million,cash amounting to Rs.1 million,illegal weapons and other valuables from their possession.
According to a police spokesperson,SHO Factory Area police station Rana Maghfoor Ahmad Khan conducted a raid on a tip-off and apprehended four suspects namely as Talha Ghaffar,Abdul Latif, Zeeshan Ali and Wasif Shabbir,who were wanted in various cases of dacoity, robbery and other criminal activities.
In another operation,Bahlak police arrested three alleged cattle lifters namely as Shahdat alias Shahid,Muhammad Naveed and Muhammad Yasir,residents of Chak No.622-GB.
Police recovered stolen animals worth Rs3.3 million,along with cash,mobile phones and illicit weapons from their possession.
Separately,five members of the Watto gang,including alleged ringleader Zuhra Watto,Adil Bashir Watto,Imran Pervaiz, Babar Zubair and Akbar Watto, were also arrested.
Cash amounting to Rs.800,000 and other items were recovered from them.
Police said the accused have been shifted sent behind bars while further investigations were in progress.
