ISLAMABAD, Mar 02 (APP):Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Hindu Council, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, on Monday fully endorsed the appeal of President Asif Ali Zardari urging the Hindu community to celebrate Holi with simplicity this year.
Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, also a Member of the National Assembly representing minorities, termed the President’s message timely and responsible. “The appeal calls for limiting large public gatherings in view of the prevailing regional tensions and security concerns”, said a press release.
Dr. Vankwani emphasized that under the current critical circumstances, prioritizing national security and the safety of citizens is a shared responsibility of everyone. He said Pakistani patriotic Hindu community has always played a positive role in promoting national unity, harmony, and interfaith cohesion.
Following the President’s appeal, Dr. Vankwani has issued directives to the Pakistan Hindu Council to review preparations for annual Holi celebrations across the country. He also urged community representatives to exercise caution, avoid large-scale public events, and extend full cooperation to local authorities.
Expressing his heartfelt wishes to the Hindu community, Dr. Vankwani expressed hope that this year Holi will be observed in a spirit of peace, brotherhood, tolerance, and interfaith harmony. He noted that the present situation demands restraint, patience, and collective responsibility, reiterating that the national security of the country and safety of innocent people must be prioritized.
