KARACHI, Mar 01 (APP):The Government of Sindh has expressed deep sorrow and regret over the entry of protesters into the U.S. Consulate General as well as the loss of lives in the ensuing clash and has also formed a high-level JIT for impartial review of all aspects of US consulate incident.
Protesters breached the outer security perimeter of the U.S. Consulate General in Karachi and caused vandalism inside, according to a communique shared by a PRO of the Sindh Information Minister.
In this tragic incident, six people lost their lives, and several others were injured. The JIT will determine the circumstances in which the incident occurred, its causes, and its underlying factors.
The government respects the democratic and constitutional right of citizens to protest.
However, maintaining a peaceful environment is a shared responsibility for all of us.
Any form of vandalism, violence, or taking the law into one’s own hands is not acceptable.
The government appeals to citizens to express their emotions only through peaceful and lawful means.
The JIT will also establish how the incident unfolded, what triggered it, and who is responsible.
The government intends to maintain control over the situation. All citizens have the right to protest peacefully.
