ATTOCK, Feb 28 (APP): Attock Police carried out a large-scale search and combing operation across Attock, resulting in the arrest of 42 suspects, officials confirmed on Saturday.
According to police sources, the detained individuals include 10 illegal Afghan nationals who were subsequently shifted to an Afghan refugee camp under legal procedures.
Separate cases have been registered against 13 individuals under the Tenancy Act for failing to comply with mandatory tenant registration requirements.
During the operation, law enforcement authorities also apprehended a proclaimed offender described as a dangerous criminal wanted in serious cases.
Police recovered 10 pistols, a rifle and other illegal weapons from the possession of the accused. Liquor and narcotics were also seized in separate actions conducted during the crackdown.
Additionally, five suspicious motorcycles were taken into custody for verification.
Police officials stated that such targeted operations will continue throughout the district to eliminate criminal elements and strengthen public safety.
