BAHAWALPUR, Feb 28 (APP):The Department of Data Science at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur signed a Letter of Agreement under the Digitization for Women’s Economic Empowerment Project, implemented with the support of UN Women Pakistan and Kaarvan Crafts Foundation.
According to an official press release issued here, under this initiative, a Digital Learning Hub will be established to promote women’s digital literacy and economic independence.
“The hub will provide training and capacity-building opportunities in online marketing, e-commerce, financial technology, and digital communication,” it said, adding that the initiative aimed to bridge the digital divide and enable women to actively participate in the digital economy.
Speaking on the occasion, the leadership of all stakeholders emphasized that digital skills were no longer a luxury but a necessity for sustainable development and economic empowerment.
“By equipping women with modern digital tools and knowledge, the project will enable them to access new markets, strengthen entrepreneurial capabilities, and improve their
livelihoods,” they concluded.
