BAHAWALPUR, Feb 28 (APP): Indiscriminate action against hoarders and profiteers continues across the district.
A major operation was carried out under the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza to curb illegal stockpiling and stabilize prices of essential commodities during Ramzan.
Assistant Commissioner City Khalil Ahmed led a large-scale crackdown against elements involved in the illegal hoarding and undocumented supply of apples.
During the operation, five major cold storage facilities were sealed after authorities discovered unauthorized stockpiling and the absence of required documentation related to inventory and supply.
According to the district administration, strict enforcement measures are being implemented to ensure market stability and provide relief to the public. Officials reiterated that decisive action against hoarding and profiteering will continue without discrimination to prevent artificial shortages and unjustified price increases.
Meanwhile, under the Chief Minister’s special Ramzan relief initiative, essential food items are being provided at subsidized rates at Negahban Ramzan Facilitation Bazaars.
Authorities stated that the availability of quality commodities, prominently displayed official price lists, and continuous monitoring mechanisms are ensuring genuine relief for citizens and helping mitigate inflationary pressures during the holy month of Ramzan.
