FAISALABAD, Feb 27 (APP):Ulema Council Pakistan (UCP) on Friday assured complete solidarity and cooperation with the Pakistan armed forces in the context of operation “Ghazab-lil-Haq”, as special prayers were offered across the country during Friday congregations for peace, stability and national security.
Chairman UCP and General Secretary of International Khatam-e-Nabuwwat Movement Pakistan Sahibzada Zahid Mahmood Qasmi while addressing the Jumah congregation at Jamia Masjid Gol said that the entire nation stands united with its armed forces and reposes full confidence in their professional capabilities.
He said that armed forces of Pakistan have delivered a strong and effective response to Afghan aggression and demonstrated their preparedness to defend sovereignty of the country.
He urged the Afghan government to abandon external agendas and prevent terrorist elements from using its soil against Pakistan.
He termed the attack on Pakistani check posts as highly regrettable and condemnable act.
He strongly condemned the Afghan aggression and said that any attack on Pakistan constitutes a blatant violation of international law.
He said that no individual or group can be allowed to target security forces’ check posts and any attempt to challenge Pakistan’s sovereignty would be met with a firm response.
Paying tribute to the professionalism and bravery of Pak Army and Pakistan Air Force during Operation “Ghazab-lil-Haq”, he said that security forces of Pakistan are fully prepared to render every sacrifice for the protection of national integrity and independence.
The nation takes pride in its armed forces, which possess the capability to foil hostile designs of the enemy, he added.
He also appealed the government to continue operation until complete elimination of “Fitna al-Khawarij” and their facilitators. Under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Pak armed forces are discharging their duties with dedication and strong resolve while the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with them, he added.
Later, special prayers were also offered for lasting peace and stability in Pakistan, forgiveness for the martyrs and early recovery of the injured.
