Dera Ismail Khan, Feb 27 (APP): On the special directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Ziauddin Ahmed, the district police carried out extensive snap checking across all divisions during the first week of Ramazan to ensure maintenance of law and order and prevent any untoward incidents.
According to police spokesman, snap checking was conducted in City, Saddar and Paharpur divisions under the supervision of divisional police officers including Murtaza Khan Bangash and Iqbal Khan Baloch, along with respective DSPs and SHOs.
As part of the security drive, police teams checked hotels, inns and guest houses in City Circle and other areas to verify records and monitor suspicious activities. The checking process was aimed at enhancing vigilance during the holy month of Ramazan.
In view of recent incidents of terrorism, security measures have been further strengthened across the district. Police established checkpoints at entry and exit points of the city, besides deploying additional personnel at important installations, imambargahs, mosques and other sensitive locations.
The DPO reiterated that the purpose of these measures was to provide a peaceful environment to citizens during the sacred month of Ramazan and to ensure that law and order situation in the district remained fully under control.
The district police have pledged to continue such operations throughout Ramazan to safeguard lives and property of the public.
