RAWALPINDI, Feb 27 (APP): Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Danyal Chaudhary on Friday paid tribute to the security forces for carrying out what he termed a successful operation against Afghan Taliban elements.
In a statement, he described the alleged attack by the Afghan Taliban as a ‘grave mistake’ and warned that the perpetrators would face serious consequences for what he called aggression.
He strongly condemned the targeting of civilian population, saying the “cowardly enemy” attempted to strike under the cover of darkness and target innocent citizens, terming it open aggression and a violation of international law.
He said such actions could prove dangerous for regional peace and stability and reiterated that Pakistan would not compromise on its sovereignty.
The parliamentary secretary alleged that elements operating under India’s patronage were attempting to sabotage peace in the region. However, he said the armed forces of Pakistan were fully prepared to thwart any hostile designs.
Barrister Danyal Chaudhry said the Pakistan Army had responded in a timely and effective manner, sending a clear message that any aggression against the country’s territory would not be tolerated.
He said Pakistan, as a responsible state, desired peace in the region and remained committed to the complete eradication of terrorism. He added that the entire nation stood shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces and would not compromise on national defence, sovereignty and territorial integrity under any circumstances.
