ISLAMABAD, Feb 26 (APP):Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Thursday called for the allocation of a dedicated share for Islamabad under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award.
Addressing the Pakistan Governance Forum 2026, themed “Reimagining Governance for URAAN Pakistan,” he emphasized the need for a historic decision regarding the federal capital’s financial rights.
He formally demanded that a specific share from the National Finance Commission (NFC) be allocated to the federal government for the development and improvement of Islamabad.
He described the move as a crucial step toward ensuring sustainable growth and improved governance in the capital.
“Islamabad must be granted its rightful share so that the city can move forward on the path of development and progress,” he said.
Other distinguished participants at the seminar also endorsed the demand, stressing that it is essential for Islamabad to receive its due financial allocation to meet its administrative and developmental needs.
