Court seeks reply on bail pleas in 2 tweet cases against PTI activist

ISLAMABAD, Feb 26 (APP): The District & Sessions Court of Islamabad on Thursday sought replies on post-arrest bail applications filed by a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist in two cases linked to disputed social media posts.
The court issued notices to the parties and fixed a date for arguments, keeping the matter pending until the next hearing.
According to court proceedings, Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah heard the case involving PTI activist Haider Saeed.
During the hearing, the accused submitted post-arrest bail applications in two separate cases. After reviewing the applications, the court issued notices to the prosecution and other relevant parties and asked them to submit their replies.
The magistrate directed both sides to present arguments at the next hearing. The court then adjourned the hearing on the bail applications until February 28.
Officials informed the court that the cases against Haider Saeed were registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency. The cases relate to tweets shared from the activist’s social media account, which were termed controversial by the authorities.
The court did not pass any order on bail at this stage and decided to hear arguments before making a decision.
