ISLAMABAD, Feb 26 (APP): An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad on Thursday fixed March 5 for the submission of a supplementary challan in a case registered against journalist Matiullah Jan over alleged recovery of drugs and weapons.
The court adjourned the proceedings after accepting the prosecution’s request for more time.
The case was heard by Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra at the Anti-Terrorism Court Islamabad. Matiullah Jan appeared before the court along with his counsel.
During the hearing, the prosecution sought time to submit a supplementary challan. The court allowed the request and directed the prosecution to file the challan by March 5. The judge noted that the case could not proceed further without the submission of the challan.
Matiullah Jan, through his counsel, requested the court to schedule the next hearing after Eid. The judge responded that the challan should be submitted first and said the presence of the accused would not be required until then.
After issuing directions regarding the challan, the court adjourned further proceedings in the case until March 5.
