FAISALABAD, Feb 26 (APP):Vice President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) Engineer Asim Munir said that all policies formulated to support marginalized segments of the society must prioritize technical training for the children from poor and deprived families as it is imperative to make them economically self-reliant.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Divisional Zakat Officer Muhammad Afzal Saleem and District Zakat Officer Muhammad Habib.
He acknowledged that the government was taking comprehensive measures for the welfare of underprivileged communities and allocating substantial funds at the federal level to provide financial assistance to the poor.
He also appreciated the poverty alleviation initiatives introduced by Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz, describing them as a significant step toward sustainable social protection.
Engineer Asim Munir said it was encouraging that the entire Zakat system had been digitized, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
He said that Zakat collection and its disbursement were now carried out through a digital mechanism while the funds are being directly transferred to the accounts of deserving beneficiaries, minimizing the chances of misuse and delays.
He urged the members of FCCI to deposit their Zakat with the Zakat and Ushr Department and suggested that the procedure for Zakat collection and distribution should be uploaded on the FCCI’s official website to create awareness and encourage maximum contributions through the official channel.
Highlighting the importance of transparent identification of deserving individuals, he proposed that FCCI members should be included in Zakat committees so they could help identify genuine beneficiaries in their respective areas and ensure that assistance reached the most deserving segments of society.
Later, FCCI Vice President presented special collar pins to the divisional and district Zakat officers in connection with the FCCI’s golden jubilee celebrations.
