WAH CANTT, Feb 26 (APP):Inspector General of the National Highways and Motorway Police, Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, on Thursday conducted a comprehensive review of the road situation from Taxila to Hassan Abdal during a surprise inspection visit, focusing on traffic management, safety measures and enforcement mechanisms.
According to a spokesperson, the IG examined the overall condition of the road, traffic flow, and security arrangements along the busy stretch.
He was briefed on steps being taken to ensure smooth movement of vehicles and strict compliance with traffic laws.
During the visit, Sultan also toured the HTVs (Heavy Transport Vehicles) driving track area in Sangjani, where he reviewed training standards and administrative affairs.
He directed officers concerned to further improve infrastructure and make public facilitation services more effective.
He additionally inspected the Sangjani vehicle impoundment area and weigh stations, issuing clear instructions to enhance transparency, efficiency and operational effectiveness. He emphasized that strict monitoring and modernized systems are essential to ensure accountability and maintain public trust in the department.
