ISLAMABAD, Feb 26 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police held an important meeting with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to review plans for strengthening surveillance and commuter safety through advanced camera systems.
An official told APP on Thursday that DG Safe City / DIG Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joiya chaired the meeting, which was attended by senior Safe City officers, members of the CDA team, and the technical staff.
He said the meeting focused on the installation and operationalisation of facial recognition cameras inside electric buses and at bus stations to enhance monitoring and security.
The official said discussions were also held on directly linking the live feed of already installed cameras with Safe City Islamabad to improve real-time surveillance and response capabilities.
He said the initiative is aimed at strengthening public safety, ensuring better monitoring of transport facilities, and supporting modern policing through technology-driven systems.
