RAWALPINDI, Feb 26 (APP):The Gujar Khan Police on Thursday arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman, a police spokesperson said.
According to the first information report, the victim’s father complained that the suspect, a neighbour, allegedly took advantage of the family’s absence, entered the house and committed the offence against his daughter.
A case was registered and the accused was taken into custody while the victim underwent a medical examination as part of the legal formalities.
Superintendent of Police Saddar Anum Sher said the accused would be challaned in court with solid evidence. She emphasised that individuals involved in assault, violence or harassment against women and children could not escape the grip of the law.
The Rawalpindi Police reiterated their commitment to protecting vulnerable segments of society and ensuring that perpetrators are brought to justice.
