PERA foils flour smuggling attempts

RAWALPINDI, Feb 26 (APP):Acting on the special instructions of Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi, Deputy Commissioner Murree, the PERA Special Operations Team successfully foiled two attempts to smuggle flour and seized a substantial quantity of the commodity during an operation at a designated check post.
The action was carried out under the supervision of the SDEO, PERA. Officials intercepted commercial vehicles allegedly being used to transport flour illegally. During the search, a large quantity of flour was recovered from the vehicles and taken into custody after completing legal formalities.
According to the district administration, the confiscated flour was later released for sale at official rates in an area where demand had risen, ensuring immediate relief to consumers. Vehicle owners were present on the spot during the proceedings to maintain transparency and fulfil legal requirements.
The district administration stated that the operation reflects its firm resolve to continue indiscriminate action against hoarding and smuggling. Authorities reiterated that the uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to the public would be ensured at all costs.
