Terrorists abduct three brothers, kill two in Bannu

PESHAWAR, Feb 26 (APP):In a brutal and cowardly act of terrorism, three unarmed brothers, all government employees, were abducted from the limits of the Cantt Police Station in Bannu, out of whom two were later found murdered, official and local sources said on Thursday.
According to district police, the incident occurred in the Sokari Hassan Khel area, where the three brothers were performing Isha and Taraweeh prayers at a local mosque when 10 to 12 armed militants stormed the area and forcibly abducted them during the prayers.
Police said the assailants showed no regard for the sanctity of the mosque, prayers or the Holy Quran, and whisked the victims away in a vehicle to an unknown location.
Later, the bodies of two abducted brothers were found dumped along a roadside, bearing marks of brutal killing. The third brother remained missing.
The abducted brothers were identified as Saeed Akhtar, an employee of the Commissioner Office; Amjad Khan, a police official; and Hazratullah, a police constable.
Eyewitnesses told authorities that the armed men acted swiftly and fled the scene within minutes.
Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a large-scale search operation in and around Sokari Hassan Khel to trace the perpetrators and recover the missing brother.
Further investigation into the incident was underway.
