ISLAMABAD, Feb 25 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday paid tribute to the security forces for carrying out successful operations against terrorists on the country’s northern and southern borders as well as in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In separate statements issued from the Presidency and the Prime Minister’s Office, the president and the prime minister commended the professionalism and bravery of the security forces in eliminating a total of 34 terrorists during various operations.
President Zardari lauded the security forces for their successful actions against terrorists linked with “Fitna-e-Hindustan” and “Fitna al-Khawarij” along the northern and southern frontiers. He said the killing of 34 terrorists and recovery of arms during the operations reflected the high performance and operational preparedness of the forces.
The president emphasized that security forces and law enforcement agencies should continue their efforts for eradication of terrorism under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam.” He stressed that there should be no let-up in operations against terrorists backed by external elements, reaffirming the resolve to safeguard national security and protect citizens.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the successful operations against “Fitna al-Khawarij” and “Fitna-e-Hindustan” in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said that owing to their professional expertise, the security forces eliminated 26 terrorists belonging to “Fitna al-Khawarij” in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and eight terrorists linked with “Fitna-e-Hindustan” in Balochistan during multiple operations.
The prime minister observed that the armed forces were achieving continuous successes against terrorist organizations and expressed the confidence that they would uproot terrorism from the country. He reiterated that under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” terrorism would soon be eradicated and the government remained determined to eliminate the menace completely.
