KARACHI, Feb 25 (APP): Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi on Wednesday reviewed the cleanliness and beautification work of Shahra-e-Faisal and said that Shahra-e-Faisal is the face of the metropolis.
The Commissioner said that the deputy commissioners, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and other departments should play their part in making Shahra-e-Faisal beautiful.
He directed Deputy Commissioners and municipal bodies to prioritize beautifying the shshrah, ensuring environmentally friendly trees, cleanliness, and grass on both sides.
Naqvi took notice of the Conocarpus trees and directed their removal, citing harm to human health and the environment.
He asked the Director Parks to replace them with new environment friendly trees immediately.
The Commissioner directed all deputy commissioners to replace Conocarpus trees with environmentally friendly ones and improve the city’s environment and cleanliness in their jurisdictions.
He also took notice of construction materials obustracting pedestrian and vehicular traffic on the service roads and footpaths.
He asked the DCs to address the issues and get removed debris.
The Commissioner also showed displeasure over the parking of illegal commercial vehicles including rickshaw.
