LAHORE, Feb 25 (APP): Punjab became the first province to establish Provincial Intelligence Fusion and Threat Assessment Centre (PIFTAC).
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited the Provincial Intelligence Fusion Assessment Center where she was briefed on PIFTAC and other matters of law and order.
In the meeting, it was decided to establish an anti-drone unit for the first time in Punjab. Maryam Nawaz Sharif approved the anti-drone unit and ordered the immediate establishment of a cybercrime cell in the province.
The Chief Minister directed continuous combing operations to ensure the safety of the lives and property of the people and ordered immediate steps to install the latest special digital scanners at the entry and exit points.
Maryam Nawaz also said that a special dashboard should be established for the deputy commissioners of all districts to ensure the safety of the lives and property of the people, while she also ordered the strengthening of the whistleblower system to suppress terrorists and criminals.
The Chief Minister further said that an AI hub will also be established in Peace Tech for cyber security and other matters, while a policy of proactive action should be adopted instead of reaction to the actions of terrorists.
She said that her government want to make Punjab the safest province, all resources will be utilized for the protection of the people.
It is worth mentioning here that PIFTAC is a specialised, inter-agency security hub in Pakistan designed to enhance real-time intelligence sharing, counterterrorism efforts, and threat anticipation.
