PESHAWAR, Feb 25 (APP): Central Chairman of the Qaumi Watan Party and former Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao on Wednesday said that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was more concerned about the release of the party founder, while under his supervision the province was witnessing daily incidents of violence and martyrdom.
In a statement issued by the Qaumi Watan Party, Aftab Sherpao said that the recent militant attack on a police van in Kohat and the resulting martyrdom of police personnel had plunged the area into mourning.
He regretted that no public representative was seen at the funeral prayers of the DSP and other police officials, while the Chief Minister remained busy with an ongoing sit-in in Islamabad.
He said that the law and order situation in the province was deteriorating with each passing day and stressed the need for immediate and effective measures to control the situation.
Sherpao further said that police personnel and innocent civilians were continuously making sacrifices, warning that if the prevailing situation persisted, it would lead to growing frustration among the police and the public, further worsening the overall security environment.
