IGP pays tribute to martyrs of Bhakkar suicide attack

LAHORE, Feb 24 (APP): Inspector General of Punjab Police Abdul Kareem on Tuesday paid rich tribute to the supreme sacrifice of Constable Faheem Abbas and Constable Shahbaz Madni, who were martyred in a suicide attack at the Dajal Inter-Provincial Check Post in Bhakkar.
The IGP Punjab said the brave personnel embraced martyrdom in the line of duty while protecting the country and the nation, setting a shining example of bravery, courage and devotion to duty. He directed that injured Constable Muhammad Arshad be provided immediate and the best possible medical treatment.
Expressing heartfelt sympathy and condolences with the bereaved families, he said Punjab Police would never leave the families of its martyrs alone and ensuring their complete welfare and support was the department’s top priority.
He further stated that every officer of Punjab Police stood like a steel wall against terrorism, including Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan, and reiterated that the nefarious designs of terrorist elements would be thwarted at all costs.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, two personnel were martyred and one injured in the suicide attack at the Dajal Inter-Provincial Check Post in Bhakkar while performing duty.
