IIUI delegation calls on CJP, agrees on judicial training collaboration

ISLAMABAD, Feb 24 (APP):A delegation of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), led by its President Prof Dr Ahmed Saad Alahmed, called on the Chief Justice of Pakistan at the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday to discuss enhanced collaboration between academia and the judiciary.
The delegation comprised Prof Dr Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice-President (Research & Enterprise), and Prof Dr Muhammad Akram, Director General of the Shariah Academy.
During the meeting, held in a cordial and forward-looking atmosphere, both sides deliberated on strengthening institutional linkages, particularly in the areas of Islamic jurisprudence, judicial training, and research cooperation.
It was agreed that the Shariah Academy of IIUI, under the leadership of Prof Dr Muhammad Akram, would collaborate with the Federal Judicial Academy to conduct online training programmes for judges. The initiative aims to enhance professional capacity-building through technology-enabled learning platforms.
Prof Dr Ahmed Shuja Syed highlighted the university’s research strengths and digital outreach capabilities, emphasizing the importance of continuous judicial education supported by modern technology across the country.
The Chief Justice underscored the significance of evidence-based judicial education and noted the vital role academic institutions can play in legal reform and the development of jurisprudence. In his capacity as a Member of the Board of Trustees of IIUI, he assured full support to the university’s management in its efforts to achieve excellence in teaching and research.
Prof Dr Ahmed Saad Alahmed appreciated the judiciary’s commitment to collaborative engagement and reaffirmed IIUI’s resolve to promote scholarly dialogue, specialized training, and research-driven policy development in partnership with judicial institutions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides exchanged souvenirs as a gesture of goodwill, symbolizing their shared commitment to sustained institutional cooperation.
