ISLAMABAD, Feb 24 (APP):The Federal Constitutional Court (FCCP) on Tuesday expressed strong displeasure over the absence of counsel
in a property case and issued a clear warning that the matter would be dismissed if the lawyer failed to appear at
the next hearing.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi made the remarks during the hearing, noting that
lawyers must prioritize appearances before the Constitutional Court rather than attending proceedings in the
Supreme Court when a case is fixed before the Constitutional Court.
During the proceedings, Justice Rizvi observed that the Federal Constitutional Court is the highest court, and
therefore counsel should arrange their schedules accordingly. He expressed concern over the practice of
appearing before the Supreme Court instead of attending hearings fixed before the Constitutional Court.
The bench cautioned that if the counsel fails to appear at the next date of hearing, the case will be dismissed.
The matter was subsequently adjourned for further proceedings.
