Deputy Commissioner Astore Chairs High-Level Meeting to Ensure Price Stability During Ramadan

ASTORE ,Feb 24 (APP):A high-level meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Astore, Muhammad Owais Abbasi, to ensure price stability of essential commodities and strict implementation of the officially notified price list during the holy month of Ramadan.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Astore Dr. Wajahat Saleem, Assistant Commissioner Shounter Khalid Anwar, Assistant Director Food Murad Khan, and other magistrates.
While addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed that all essential food items must be sold strictly in accordance with the officially notified price list during Ramadan, emphasizing that no leniency will be shown in this regard. He categorically stated that the availability of essential commodities at government-approved rates must be ensured at all costs, and strict legal action will be taken against traders involved in profiteering or artificial price hikes.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed all concerned officers to conduct daily market inspections, monitor prices and quality of food items, and ensure full compliance with the law.
He further informed that the District Administration Astore, in collaboration with local traders, has established special Ramadan relief centers to provide essential commodities at subsidized rates. Discounted items are being provided at Shabbir Bakers/City Departmental Store and Sharafat Bakers Eidgah. Additionally, Tauqeer Sabzi Farosh Eidgah is offering vegetables and fruits at reduced prices. Special relief counters have also been set up in Astore Bazaar where essential commodities and vegetables are available at lower rates.
It is noteworthy that, keeping in view the convenience of fasting citizens, the District Administration Astore, in cooperation with local traders, has established seven relief points in Astore city and six in Gorikot to ensure the availability of essential items at reasonable prices.
The Deputy Commissioner has appealed to the public to immediately report any incidents of overcharging or artificial price inflation to the relevant complaint numbers so that prompt action can be taken.
