ISLAMABAD, Feb 24 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police continued large-scale search and combing operations in various areas of the federal capital as part of efforts to curb criminal activities and check illegal residents, during which 10 Afghan nationals were among the suspected individuals shifted for verification.
An official told APP on Tuesday that police teams conducted search operations in the jurisdictions of Industrial Area, Sihala, Sangjani, and Karachi Company police stations, during which 66 suspected individuals, including 10 Afghan nationals, were shifted to the relevant police stations for verification. Lady police officials also participated in the operations.
He said that senior officers briefed the teams before the operations to ensure effective coordination and safety compliance.
During the search operations, police teams checked 395 individuals and 161 households. Police also inspected 74 shops and 101 hotels/guest houses.
The official said that 179 motorcycles and 63 vehicles were examined, while 15 motorcycles were shifted to police stations for further verification.
He said police teams also recovered 20 litres of liquor and weapons with ammunition during the operations.
Following the special directions of the IGP Islamabad, ICT Police are continuing search operations across the district to eliminate criminal elements and ensure public safety.
