ISLAMABAD, Feb 23 (APP): The National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) has announced a series of training courses in traditional folk crafts under its project “National Craft Emporium,” set to begin from March 01.
The courses will cover seven disciplines including Calligraphy, Block Printing using Natural Vegetable Dyes, Chunri (Tie & Dye), Pottery and Ceramics, Weaving, Folk Painting, and Costume Designing. According to the official announcement, the training is being offered for youth between the ages of 18 and 30 who hold at least 14 years of education in Textile, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
Each course will run for three months, and attendance of at least 80 percent will be mandatory for participants seeking a course completion certificate. Enrollment in each category will be capped at 20 participants, with applications processed on a first come, first served basis.
No fee will be charged for any of the courses while course timings are yet to be announced.
The interested candidates are required to submit a CV carrying their name, age, qualification, CNIC number, complete address, mobile number, and email address to dirmuseums@lokvirsa.org.pk by February 28, 2026.
The hard copies may also be submitted to the Director (Museum), Lok Virsa, Garden Avenue, Shakarparian, Islamabad, before the same deadline. The name of the course must be clearly mentioned in the application.
Lok Virsa has stated that it reserves the right to accept or reject any application at any stage without assigning any reason.
