KOHAT, Feb 23 (APP): A tragic incident shook the comparatively peaceful KDA locality of Kohat on Sunday when a lady doctor was shot dead by an unidentified assailant in the early hours of the day, police confirmed. The sudden attack has sparked widespread concern among residents of the posh neighborhood, as authorities swiftly moved to secure the crime scene and initiate a comprehensive inquiry.
According to police officials, rescue and law enforcement teams promptly reached the site of the incident and shifted the body to the District Headquarters Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Soon after, District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat Shehbaz Elahi personally visited the location, where he reviewed preliminary findings and instructed investigators to proceed with a thorough, professional, and multi-dimensional probe.
The DPO emphasized that all available resources would be mobilized to ensure the immediate arrest of those responsible. He categorically stated that the perpetrators of what he termed a heinous act would be brought to justice without any leniency. Furthermore, evidence collected from the scene has been dispatched for forensic analysis, while security has been heightened in adjoining areas.
Meanwhile, police sources revealed that investigations are under way from multiple angles to ascertain the motive behind the killing. In addition, a search operation has been launched in surrounding localities to trace the suspect, as authorities intensify efforts to deliver swift justice and restore a sense of security in the area.
